Artistic CV
Artistic Approach
Elyn Chen paints without preliminary sketches. She builds her paintings in successive layers, allowing colour, gesture, and material to guide the composition.
Her landscapes bring together reflections, architecture, celestial bodies, and plant forms. They begin with lived experience, then gradually move away from the motif to open a space for memory and contemplation.
Her journey between Shanghai and Provence informs a practice centred on perception, time, and the relationship between human beings and their environment.
